We finally made our first trip to Hawaii this year. We decided on Oahu because we figured there would be more to do there and would be a good introduction to our 49th state.

Chris found us a great "cottage" near the beach in Kailua with almost everything we needed.

Agnes and Chris got there first, provsioned the cottage (bought wine) and had a car to pick up up at the airport late Friday night.

We goy ourselves settled in, got a good night's sleep and were ready for our first taste of Hawaii on Saturday.

On Sunday we were invited to the Kaneohe Yacht Club for the season opening celebrations. We toured the harbor on "Ghost" and came away with beer mugs as prizes in the boat decorating contest, Chris got a 1st and the rest of us (passengers) got 2nd. There were only 2 boats in the parade!

On Thursday we hosted some of the crew for Chris' next race at our cottage.

We spent most of the week touring around the Island, enjoying the beautiful weather, tropical flowers and birds.

We visited the Dole Plantation to see just where some of our favorite fruits come from
